The commercial bit
Someone builds one at eleven at night. Picks the tint, watches the swirl land, gives it a colour nobody else has. Then they shut the laptop, and they can't stop thinking about it.
That board exists now. They've seen it. Ordering is just catching up with a decision they already made.
Someone's put a deposit on a plain white 6′2. One message: have a play with this before I start glassing. They come back wanting a tint, or a rail band, or something they never knew you offered.

Who you'd be working with
I grew up competing, and I've worked in a board factory for the last couple of years. I still do. Most of what I know about how a board goes together came from people who've been doing it for decades and were good enough to explain it.
So I know what a lamination looks like when it's gone wrong. I know which techniques are quick and which are a nightmare. I know what's realistic to draw and what isn't.
You won't spend the first three calls explaining what a lap is.
The long game
I work in a factory full time. This is the thing I build around it, for shops like the one I'm in.
That isn't a disclaimer, it's the reason it's any good. I'm in a bay every week watching what actually slows a job down, and I'm not going to lose interest in surfboards and move on to something else.
So yours doesn't stand still. New models when you shape them. New colours when you stock them. New finishes when you work one out. The engine underneath gets better too, and when it does, you get that as well.
Every shop I work with makes it better for the next one, mine included. A technique worked out in one bay becomes something every configurator can draw, which is why this is worth more in a year than it is the day it goes up.
Most software you buy is worth less every month you own it. This one should be worth more.

Pricing
Priced on what you actually have. How many models, whether your outlines exist digitally or need tracing, how many ways a board can be finished in your bay. A three-model shaper and a factory running two paint ranges are not the same job, so they are not the same number.
Hosting, fixes when a browser changes under you, and new models, colours and techniques added as you make them. Not a support queue that has never heard of you. Someone who already knows your range.
It is the part that keeps the thing alive rather than slowly ageing, and it is deliberately not a barrier.
